For those actors who want to be prepared for next year’s pilot season, which typically kicks off in January, Studio for Performing Arts LA believes their newly announced fall course is the best way for actors to prepare for the annual uptake in casting opportunities.
This year’s edition of “The Active Actor” will give its students the chance to learn from some of the best in the industry, including award-winning actor and head of the studio, Walid Chaya.
One of the fundamentals of the course is a weekly scene study and business class, which is conducted by Walid Chaya and influential casting director and producer, Ani Avetyan. These weekly sessions will include acting on-camera to help performers hone their skills.
Other highlights of the course include its networking opportunities, with frequent appearances made by industry guests, including image consultants, directors, talent agents and more.
“The Active Actor” course culminates with an end-of-semester showcase performance, in which participating actors will produce and perform a polished scene before a pool of expert assessors.
Walid Chaya believes that the course offers its students the ability to truly improve their craft, while also learning how to create their own opportunities in the Hollywood industry and naturally attract the attention of industry professionals.
Interested participants can register for the course on a monthly basis and have the option of attending in person in Los Angeles or remotely online. The course of study is available to both adult and teen performers and will run from September to December, 2022. Applications are now open.
“The Active Actor” is one of Studio for Performing Arts LA’s most popular courses. The LA-based acting school believes that aspiring actors need to be empowered with both professional craft skills and business acumen in order to make their star shine.
One happy participant of “The Active Actor” program said, “Since joining ‘The Active Actor’ program, I noticed my weekly number of auditions rise. I started to get more callbacks, and even booked an important role on a docu-series. Walid and Ani are game-changers for anything business related. They took all my goals and helped me make them attainable!”
Another successful alum added, “Their consistent support and weekly acting feedback helped me grow so much, I even met my manager through ‘The Active Actor’ program, after just a couple of months! The monthly package includes everything from core acting skills to helping with your brand, marketing, social media and all it takes to work professionally.”
